Spring Training Update
Full squad workouts are in full force as the Miami Marlins prepare for the 2013 season. We open up this Saturday vs. the St.
Louis Cardinals. We have a young club, a new manager and a new plan as an organization. It was a tough year in 2012 but all of us are moving forward and focusing on building a championship team in 2013 and the years to come. Our players are working very hard with our staff members and there are good things to come for the Marlins in the future. We have a lot of talented young players that our organization has developed and that have come over in the well documented trades we have made in the off season. We will continue to work hard to build the basic fundamentals and build good habits in our players (The Same Thing We do at Baseball Pros Academy.) Infielders work on knee’s and wide base drills everyday with a ground ball routine. Pitchers are working on their deliveries and throwing strikes. Outfielders work on their routes and hitting cut off men. Catchers block balls and
catch a ton of bullpens and hitters are all working on staying quiet with their front sides and using their hands to drive the ball to the middle of the field. Basic stuff, doing it over and over again. Building good habits!
